Spring 2022 AED Preview

Welcome back AED! We hope you are excited about all the great events we have planned for this semester. With a great list of speakers for our general meetings and a new lineup of fun socials, there are plenty of opportunities to be inspired in your Pre-Health journey, grow closer to the AED family, and make some awesome memories!

The first social of the semester was a big hit! AED put on a fun game night for current members and prospective members at the BSB. What better way to get to know each other than a little friendly competition and show how much fun being in AED is! If you missed it, don’t worry because there are plenty of other exciting socials on the schedule. Whether you are looking for something relaxing like Terrarium Building (March 31st) or want to get up and active at the Marina Social (April 23rd), there is a wide variety of socials to attend. And if you really love AED, make AED your Valentine by coming to the AED Birthday Party on February 14th!

Today, we welcome the Spring 2022 New Member Class! New Members have officially submitted their applications and gone through the interview process. AED prides itself on including its general members in the interviews and we are always excited to chat with the amazing applicants. As general members, we can all remember the important community building and memories that are made during the New Member process.

Last but not least, one of the biggest AED events in the spring is the Annual Pre-Health Symposium! This year, PHS will include schools from across the country in both a virtual and in-person format. The 49th Annual Pre-Health Symposium will be held virtually on February 16-18, 2022 as well as in-person (at the Baylor Sciences Building) on February 19, 2022. The Pre-Health Symposium is the largest annual health professional event offered at Baylor University, and we get to host it! Make sure to be there if you want to meet representatives from different institutions and learn about what they look for in prospective students and ask questions.

Also please give a warm welcome to AED’s new Recruitment and Inclusivity chair Nevaeh Gomez! We are excited to expand our horizons with this new position in AED and make sure we foster a welcoming and inclusive environment in our organization.

We hope you are excited about what this semester has in store!
