Service

Large Service Events

  • We will have an LSE this Friday (2/2) from 12:45-3:15PM at Caritas of Waco. We will be volunteering in their food pantry as their organization aims to fight poverty and food insecurity in Waco. Volunteers will have to fill out this Google Form indicating that they have read the details of the waiver, so I can send our information to the coordinator before Friday. HERE IS THE LINK! If you are coming please fill out ASAP:)

Weekly Service Updates

  • Please reach out to Lexi (Lexi_Haviland1@baylor.edu) if you have not heard from your Weekly Service chair or if you are confused about which site you are volunteering with for this semester:)

  • If you have to attend an orientation for your organization–that will still contribute to your weekly hours! Please let me know if you have any questions at all!

Other Updates

Rural Health Equity Research Collaborative

  • There is a new opportunity to volunteer alongside the R-HERC team in serving 900 students by the US-Mexico border. They will be presenting a healthcare career pathway curriculum and are in need of volunteers to help present this curriculum via zoom! This would be a great opportunity, as it includes research experiences, service hours, and the unique opportunity to work with students in rural and underserved communities. Reach out to Lorena Alvarez (lorena_alvarez1@baylor.edu) if you are interested!

Climate Change Panel

On Monday at 3:30pm in BSB B110, Dr Peter Hotez from Baylor College of Medicine and Dr. Hayhoe will be speaking on climate change. See flyer for more details if you are interested!
