General Meeting #1 - 2/1/22

  • We have our first General Meeting of the semester this Wednesday 2/1 from 7:30-8:30pm in BSB D.110! Our guest speaker will be Baylor’s own Dr. Greathouse, and she is excited to share more details about her research and how it applies to pre-health! Her background spans the fields of cancer biology, epidemiology, and nutrition. She completed her postdoctoral training at the National Cancer Institute in the laboratory of Curtis Harris, where she discovered a novel microbiome-gene interaction in lung cancer. The focus of her laboratory at Baylor is on elucidating the relationship between diet and the microbiome and its impact on cancer etiology and treatment. Dr. Greathouse has received multiple awards for her work, including a Merit Award from the National Institute of Health, Excellence in Research Leadership, and Rising Star at Baylor University. She is currently on the editorial board for Carcinogenesis and is an associate editor for Genetic Testing and Molecular Biomarkers.
